Position Title: Instructional Student Assistant – FE Exam Tutor

Role Description:
The Civil Engineering Department in the College of Engineering, Computer Science, and Construction Management is collecting application materials for Instructional Student Assistants to support faculty to lead and host the FE tutoring review sessions.
Description of Duties:
The student tutor is expected to work 4-8 hours a week for 10-12 weeks. The tutoring time is 1.5-2 hours (starting at 6 or 7 pm) in the evening. The basic tasks for the student tutor are to organize the review sessions based on the review videos on the EIT webpage in Canvas, provide tutoring hours to help students who are preparing for the FE exam, host group learning hours, and may make additional review videos of question examples to help improve tutoring service. Student tutors are also expected to record the number of students enrolling in the Canvas of EIT Prep webpage, and the number of participants in the tutoring service. At the end of the semester, student tutors need to submit a short summary report (1 page) as the assessment of the tutoring service.
Minimum Qualifications:
Student Tutors must be enrolled at Chico State (part-time is acceptable), and in good academic standing with the University. While passing the FE is not mandatory for this position, the preferred candidate is the student who passed the FE exam and could share the experience with other students.
Exceptions to the minimum eligibility qualifications may be granted at the sole discretion of the University.
