The University Housing Department is collecting application materials for the Mail Attendant Position:
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain a positive and helpful manner, working cooperatively with University Housing residents, staff, mail carriers, and other support systems.
- Accept and sign for packages from UPS, FedEx, DHL and USPS.
- Log packages, sort mail, distribute packages and deliver mail to resident mailboxes.
- Assist with mail and package issues.
- Maintain an organized work space and complete any assigned chores.
- Ensure the safety and security of resident, employee, staff, and support system information.
- Report violations of University Housing and University policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Mailroom Supervisor, Mailroom Managers
Knowledge, Skills and Requirements
- Currently enrolled as a CSU, Chico student.
- Previous background in student organization, customer service, student council, or hotel services preferable.
- Ability to maintain a good working relationship with all co-workers and the general public.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 lbs.
- Must have good organizational and communication skills.
- Must be able to perform duties under moderate supervision.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and complete CSU Chico Defensive Driver trainings.
- Must work a minimum of 12 hours per week and must work occasional weekends.

Please note that all applicants must be available to work a minimum of 12 hours per week during the academic semester. This includes working night and weekend hours to be employed.
