Role Description:

The New Student Orientation & Transition Programs in Student Affairs is collecting application materials for Student Orientation Multi-Media Specialist

Description of Duties:

  • Create and develop digital content and video work on behalf of New Student Orientation and Transition Programs to engage and inform students and families (EX: tips for success, campus tour, ways to be prepared for orientation/college, student testimonials, etc.)
  • In collaboration with respective campus departments, create educational videos to be included in the online orientation program.
  • With assistance from the Orientation Coordinator, identify needs throughout the onboarding process that can be improved via strategic digital communication
  • Work collaboratively with the Orientation Team to execute established content strategies, messaging, and creative direction while contributing original ideas and perspectives.
  • Monitor and update social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.
  • Provide quality customer service to all orientation participants
  • Serve as a knowledgeable, friendly, welcoming representative of Chico State
  • Attend orientation team trainings as needed
  • Attend select summer Orientation sessions and overnight programs to engage with incoming students and families, capture authentic Orientation experiences, and create social media content
  • Serve as a resource for campus programs and services
  • Portray Chico State, its policies, services and programs in a professional manner
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned
    Minimum Qualifications:
    Enrolled in at least 6 units in Fall 2026
    Minimum 2.7 GPA
    Experience in video filming, production, and editing
    Conditions of Employment:
  • Minimum 2.7 GPA and good academic standing
  • Approximately 8-10 hours per week
    Must be available and committed to working throughout the Winter and Summer Orientation season (January 4th - January 12th and June – Early August)

Exceptions to the minimum eligibility qualifications may be granted at the sole discretion of the University.

All work must be performed within the State of California.
