Role Description:

The Meriam Library Building Management Department is collecting application materials for:

Description of Duties: 

The prospective student employee is given a range of different day-to-day tasks, including: assisting library patrons with finding specific books, DVDs, periodicals, etc.; shelving books and collections inventory; sorting and delivering mail to departments; basic troubleshooting of microforms equipment, copiers, and computers; enforcing library public use policies; assisting in building evacuations; and a variety of special projects which may include moving furniture, "shifting" books, light cleaning, etc.  

The weekly shifts for this position will be assigned at the beginning of each semester and will be consistent through that semester. Shifts will typically be between 10 and 16 hours a week and will take place during library operating hours, Sunday through Sunday, opening as early as 7:30am and closing as late as 10:00pm.

Minimum Qualifications:

Federal Work Study Award Required. 

Entry level position. Maturity, good communication skills, excellent time management, typing and computer skills. Must be able to work a variety of shift types within the library's operating hours, which include working until 10pm and on weekends.
