Position Title: Sociology Grader (Instructional Student Assistant)

Role Description:
The Sociology Department in the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences is collecting application materials for a department grader. Please note: this posting is for a grader pool.
Description of Duties:
The Sociology grader will assist with grading in Sociology courses, which entails evaluating student assignments, and maintaining and submitting student records. The grader may also perform other general tasks to support faculty. The grader will meet regularly with the instructor to discuss their work. The grader will work primarily in Canvas.
Graders must demonstrate professionalism in interacting with staff, faculty, and students. They possess the ability to work independently, and to take instruction from staff and chair. Successful applicants will demonstrate both maturity and patience.
Hours worked will depend on the grading needs of the instructor and/or department.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Sociology major or minor
- Minimum Chico State GPA of 3.5
- Personal qualities as described in this advertisement
- Enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at Chico State during the semester of work
- Students enrolled in both the on-campus and distance education Sociology programs are eligible
Exceptions to the minimum eligibility qualifications may be granted at the sole discretion of the University.
