| Role Description: |
The Women’s, Queer, and Trans Program Coordinators are responsible for helping to coordinate activist and educational events and activities and for providing guidance and support to GSEC interns. Events and activities have a focus on creating safe and brave spaces for students who are marginalized by gender and/or sexuality using a feminist intersectional lens.
Description of Duties:
Provide support and coordination for the overall health and organization of the GSEC. Works directly with the Program Director to build and sustain systems and administrative function.
Intern Recruitment & Hiring
- Create recruitment timeline and strategy with Outreach Coordinator
- Coordinate outreach and publicity at beginning of Fall and Spring semesters with Outreach Coordinator
- Coordinate interviews with candidates, including scheduling with other coordinators or interviewers
- Help complete paperwork for internship and enrollment in MCGS 389
- Coordinate logistics for activist/intern training
Vagina Monologues
- Support all aspects of logistics for event in collaboration with Women’s Program Coordinator
Program Reports and Updates
- Write monthly update for EGQS department and Advisory Board
- Assemble information from monthly reports for end of year report for AS and BSS, and other stakeholders
Budget work
- Tracking expenses and purchases
- Meet with EGQS Admin Coordinator every other week to get updates on expenditures and budget
Data Collection Systems
- Coordinate document storage
- Ensure intern hours are recorded and collected and stored in location
- Document the number of people who come to GSEC as drop in service and collect basic data
- Ensure system for collecting information on events including number of participants/tickets sold, names of speakers and special guests
- Coordinate legacy writing from staff and interns for events and actions
Education Requirements: Currently enrolled full time in California State University, Chico. Maintain enrollment in (6) six units as an undergraduate student or (4) four units as a graduate student.
Minimum Qualifications:
Basic understanding of and/or interest in feminist, LGBTQ+, and social justice issues; demonstrated interest in sexuality and gender diversity-related issues; desire to build communication and leadership skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office programs. Priority may be given to people with prior GSEC experience.
Exceptions to the minimum eligibility qualifications may be granted at the sole discretion of the University.
