| Role Description: |
The Foster Youth Program is accepting applications for the Program Assistant/Peer Coach position.
Description of Duties:
1. Actively participate in all training and weekly staff meetings.
2. Responsibility for regular contact of a specific student client group.
3. Refer students to services for any challenge/barrier identified during contact.
4. Distribute and follow up on mid-semester progress evaluations.
5. Assist in planning cultural activities and regular social and wellness group activities.
6. Assist in development of newsletter and monthly student spotlight.
7. Ability to speak and participate in presentations to large groups.
8. Assist in reviewing documentation for verification of foster youth/unaccompanied homeless status.
9. Availability to work flexible hours including some required evenings and weekends.
10. Other duties as prescribed by immediate supervisor.
11. 10-20 hours per week
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Junior, Senior or Graduate class standing with a 2.50 GPA or above preferred.
2. Above average communication skills.
3. Ability to articulate and disseminate detailed information.
4. Ability to relate to current/former foster youth student needs.
5. Knowledge of PATH Scholars philosophy and goals.
Exceptions to the minimum eligibility qualifications may be granted at the sole discretion of the University.

Additional Information:
All work must be performed within the State of California.
Compliance training completion (approx. 4 hours of work time) is required of this position within the first 30 days of work.
The person holding this position may be considered a ‘mandated reporter’ under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.
