| Role Description: |
Overview:
FYE Research Coordinators analyze data collected from students who take First-Year-Supported courses and participate in Public Sphere Pedagogy (PSP) events (The Summit). Their work helps the program better understand student experiences and improve future activities. With guidance from the Program Coordinator, you will work both independently and with a small team of peers to design and carry out research projects. These projects help event organizers create meaningful learning opportunities during campus events and help peer mentors build stronger connections with the students they support in class.
Description of Duties:

Collect and review information gathered from students in first-year courses and related campus events

Analyze student feedback and participation data to identify patterns and insights

Work with a small team to design and carry out research projects

Collaborate with the Program Coordinator to guide research goals and methods

Share findings that help improve campus learning events

Provide insights that help peer mentors build stronger relationships with students in the classroom

Help evaluate student experiences in courses and program events

Present or summarize research findings for program staff and teams

Work both independently and collaboratively with peers

Participate in training and weekly skill-building activities

Contribute to a supportive and collaborative team environment
Minimum Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in at least 6 units
- Cumulative GPA: 2.5 or higher
- Available to work up to 8 hours/week
- Experience working in a team setting

Additional Information:
All work must be performed within the State of California.
Compliance training completion (approx. 4 hours of work time) is required of this position within the first 30 days of work.
