Join the Student Organizations & Leadership Education (SOLE) team today!
Working in Student Organizations & Leadership Education (SOLE) gives students the opportunity to gain transferable skills in office administration, project management, professional communication, software exploration, and working in a collaborative team environment. Do you have interest and/or expertise in event planning, website maintenance/updates, public speaking, marketing and creating social media content? If yes, check out what a SOLE Paraprofessional does:
· Support the Student Life and Leadership Office to train, support and provide guidance to over 150 student organizations on campus.
· Collaborate with fellow students and professional staff across campus to create an eventful and engaging experience for members of student organizations and the campus community as a whole.
· Become an expert in “CatsConnect” and encourage campus-wide participation in the engagement platform
· Provide exceptional customer service to fellow student leaders and campus personnel.
· Do you love events? Virtual or live in-person? This position will expertly communicate with student organizations, campus departments, leadership teams and campus faculty/staff to identify quality programming in a desired format.
· It’s time to get creative. Can you think outside the box and create new innovative ways to keep students engaged. You can provide creative solutions to real time problems and educate student leaders how to use software to satisfy their needs.
· Work closely with campus departments such as Associated Students, Risk Management, Facilities Reservations and Facility Management Services.
· Do you enjoy being around people and educating them on new information? Do you happen to get good grades on your public speaking assignments? Do you like being an ambassador to inform your peers about great things happening on campus? OK, you may not love it completely, but we are looking for someone who is a confident public speaker who can deliver quality presentations for workshops, seminars, orientations and leadership education programming. We will teach you the information, you just relay it to the group.
· Work with Facilities Reservations to enter room and tabling reservations on behalf of student organization leadership teams
· Create innovative and engaging presentations to deliver on behalf of SOLE
· Full 20hr/week availability is ideal.
· 15-20 hours per week throughout the remainder of the semester.
· Eligibility for work-study is required
· You must be interested in working well in a collaborative environment. We have a lot to accomplish, we need a team player that steps up to get the job done.
· You must be available to work our annual weekend events, such as: Preview Day, Recognition Training, Choose Chico, etc.
· A wonderful part of this position is the creative freedom and voice you have in deciding what happens in the office and what we are able to offer our student population.
Looking for applicant to start at the beginning of April 2026 with the option to begin sooner for those available. The position is contingent on the state of campus operations and financial standing.
The person holding this position may be considered a “mandated reporter” under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.
