| Role Description: |
The Central Office Desk Assistant is a dynamic, customer-focused position within University Housing, ideal for students with strong clerical and computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.) who have lived in the residence halls. This role involves providing excellent front-desk and phone support, interpreting university policies for students and parents, guiding housing tours, and assisting with major campus events such as orientation and preview days, including some weekend work. The office is fast-paced, so applicants should be organized, efficient, friendly, comfortable with multitasking, and confident in public speaking. Fluency in Spanish is a plus. The position begins in March 2026, requires confidentiality compliance, mandatory training, and will include a background review, with performance evaluated each semester for continued employment.
Exceptions to the minimum eligibility qualifications may be granted at the sole discretion of the University.

All work must be performed within the State of California.
Compliance training completion (approx. 4 hours of work time) is required of this position within the first 30 days of work.
The person holding this position is not considered a ‘mandated reporter’ under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.
