The School of the Arts in the College of Humanities and Fine Arts is collecting application materials for the Properties Crew.  The hours are flexible and experience is not required. 

Description of Duties: 

Specific Job Duties:                                                                                                                 90%

  • The Props Crew member must read and become familiar with each script.
  • The Props Crew member must work under the guidance of the Props Lead/Supervisor.
  • The Props Crew member must procure all the stage properties for the production under the direction of the Props Lead/Supervisor.
    • The crew may build properties and furniture in the shops, but most of the work will likely entail locating props from Department storage, around campus, in town or online.
    • Altering and decorating props to suit the needs of the production is also common.
  • Secure rehearsal props, as requested by the Props Lead/Supervisor.
  • All performance props must be approved by the Props Lead/Supervisor/Scenic Designer/Director.
  • Assist the Scenic Designer and Props Lead in decorating the sets.

Miscellaneous Duties:                                                                                                             10%

  • Clean Prop Room and report needs to Props Lead/Supervisor.
  • Log work times on monthly calendar located in scene shop and on CHRS.
  • Sign monthly timesheet when ready.

Hours per week: 6-20 hours

All work must be performed within the State of California.

Compliance training completion (approx. 4 hours of work time) is required of this position within the first 30 days of work.

The person holding this position is not considered a ‘mandated reporter’ under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.
