Role Description:

The School of the Arts in the College of Humanities and Fine Arts is collecting application materials for a student assistant in Electrics Crew.  Hours are flexible and no experience is required.

Description of Duties: 

Specific Job Duties:                                                                                                                 75%

  • Demonstrate the ability to read plots and paperwork and then interpret and implement
  • Rig, focus, circuit and operate necessary lighting equipment
  • Use of devices like barn-doors, gobos, gel and other attachments to control lighted areas
  • Maintain lighting equipment in good safe working condition
  • With supervision, taking on electrical maintenance duties as needed
  • Operating within current health and safety regulations to ensure a safe environment

Miscellaneous Duties:                                                                                                             25%

  • Clean up fixtures/gear from theatre and return to light lab
  • Maintain a clean and organized light lab
  • Report needs to Supervisor
  • Log work times on monthly calendar located in scene shop and on CHRS.
  • Sign monthly timesheet when ready.

Hours per week: 6-20 hours

All work must be performed within the State of California.

Compliance training completion (approx. 4 hours of work time) is required of this position within the first 30 days of work.
