Technical Assistant/Stagehand Chico
Work hand in hand with production professionals as we load in, assemble, run, un-assemble, and load out some of the best local and international touring musicals, dance shows, and concerts that pass through Northern California. Previous stage experience not necessary, but helpful. Training will be on the job and hands on. Skills needed are enthusiasm, focus, availability, ability to learn & take direction, dependability, flexibility, and the ability to work with others. You will experience lighting, sound, staging, and general theater maintenance. Along with a couple other places on campus, most of your work will be done in Chico State's grand old theater, Laxson Auditorium (built 1931). You get out of it what you put into it. Work Study preferred.
Central Office Desk Assistant Chico
The Central Office Desk Assistant is a dynamic, customer-focused position within University Housing, ideal for students with strong clerical and computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.) who have lived in the residence halls. This role involves providing excellent front-desk and phone support, interpreting university policies for students and parents, guiding housing tours, and assisting with major campus events such as orientation and preview days, including some weekend work. The office is fast-paced, so applicants should be organized, efficient, friendly, comfortable with multitasking, and confident in public speaking. Fluency in Spanish is a plus. The position begins in the Fall 2026 semester, requires confidentiality compliance, mandatory training, and will include a background review, with performance evaluated each semester for continued employment.
IT Support Services (Tech Shop) Chico
Join the Tech Shop team and get hands-on with the hardware that keeps Chico State running. As a Tech Shop student assistant, you will repair, configure, and deploy computers and other technology used by faculty and staff. This role focuses on the behind-the-scenes work that ensures classrooms, labs, and offices have the tools they need.
