Role Description:

The Office for Civil Rights and Title IX (OCRT) is seeking a motivated Student Training & Outreach Assistant to support the office's education, prevention, and outreach initiatives. This position provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in higher education, compliance education, public speaking, instructional design, and event planning while contributing to a respectful, inclusive, and equitable campus community.

Working under the supervision of OCRT professional staff, the Student Training & Outreach Assistant assists with developing educational materials, facilitating trainings, supporting outreach initiatives, maintaining training resources and records, and promoting awareness of OCRT services and campus resources. This position does not participate in investigations, case management, or other activities involving Level 1 confidential data.

Required Qualifications: 

  • Currently enrolled Chico State student in good academic standing.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable speaking in front of groups or willing to develop public speaking skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, reliability, and dependability.
  • Ability to maintain discretion and professionalism when working in a confidential office environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
